  • The R & R Residency is pleased to announce our first residency is complete!

  • We know you will be as thrilled with the show as we are, but first let's have a look around in the living quarters.

  • Looks like the bed was moved out and D.Fordyce has been sleeping on the couch!

  • Oh dear! Hope he gets to those dishes soon!

  • He must have gotten right to work, his bags are still packed!

  • A clean bathroom....err...except what is his toothbrush doing on the floor?

  • Rubber Ducky youre the one, you make bath time lots of fun.

  • Work space. Who is the cutie?

  • The artist doesnt appear to be ready for the exhibit yet, let's come back this evening.

  • Oh WOW!!!!!Let's read the artists words.

  • OVER MY HEAD I have been working on notes and sketches for over 20 years in hopes of someday completing a graphic novel. Finally, at almost 49 years old, I have a complete story to tell.

  • I think about the images and words on a daily basis and the story OVER MY HEAD becomes more layered with each new drawing. It is my goal to complete this project in the next year.

  • S.Dot Gallery and the R&R Residency Program have given me a place to explore and have some actual deadlines to get me moving forward at an increased rate.

  • In this installation, I am happy to present a diorama version of one of the spreads in Chapter One as well as single images from the Introduction. I hope you like them.

  • Bio : Douglas Fordyce is an artist living and working in Columbus, Ohio. Alumnus of both CCAD and The Ohio State University, Doug has a BFA in Painting and Drawing. Doug has shown his abstract figurative paintings extensively in Ohio, taught classes, and worked as the chief curator at Studio16 Art Gallery for four years.

  • He has also worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for Limited Brands, Inc, and created many small business identities including Lucky 13 Hair Salon, Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails, Surly Girl Saloon, Betty's, The Shrunken Head and Dine Originals.

  • More recently, he has been creating graphics for local bands including Miller-Kelton, Sleepers Awake and White Wolves. Most days, you can find him in his home studio with his dogs Linus and Owen.

  • Thanks so much for staying with us and sharing your story Doug! We can't wait for the next chapters!
